Facing Incarceration ????
PRISONMAN may be able to help !!!
Every day thousands of convicted men sit in the county jail awaiting induction into the prison systen and many more are navigating the criminal justice system with possible incarceration pending. All have questions about prison life and most become frustrated when family, friends or their pastor can't provide the answers. As a result, all they know about prison life is what they can learn from ugly rumors spread around the county jail, which are usually untrue, or from information provided by Hollywood movies which is generally slanted to promote ticket sales. Consequently, the new inmate arrives at his assigned institution totally unprepared for the problems he will immediately face and his survival is difficult.
Who is PRISONMAN ???
Dave Beardsley has been called the foremost authority on prison survival in the country today, and rightly so. His criminal history includes serving a segment of time in all of the past four decades and embodies incarceration in one federal, four state and eleven county facilities in four states. His criminal past has been featured in front page newspaper headlines and on national television.
As a rebellious youth, Dave pulled his first stretch in a state institution by the age of fourteen only to emerge with more sophisticated criminal skills. He floated in and out of various institutions for several years until he finally faced long term incarceration in the late seventies, a sixteen year for armed robbery. In 1978 Dave surrendered his life to Christ Jesus and thought that he buried his past in Christian baptism but Satan wasn't through with him yet. In 1998, Dave was falsely accused of sexual assault and railroaded into the prison system based upon his past record. Seven years later the conviction was overturned by the State Supreme Court and his 20 year sentence was vacated.
Dave knows how to survive prison life! Based upon his personal experience, Dave has authored a book to help recently convicted men with their adjustment to prison life. The book, "A Christian's Guide To Prison Survival", is a unique tool to be used by family members, friends and pastors interested in helping someone they know adjust to life behind bars. Thousands of copies have been given to inmates. The book will soon enter its third printing.
